Moths, Mantises and Monarchs

In the sun and under the stars

Ditch lilies and Queen Anne’s lace gracing the roadside

Marigolds, cosmos, and zinnias colorful in the garden

Juicy to the elbow watermelon, blueberries and peaches

Buttered corn on the cob dripping down smiling faces

Plodding through sand and races to the ocean

Lakeside views from inside canoes

Cracking bats, flying legs, and home again

Ice cream evenings, sticky and sweet

Slumbering to a lullaby of cicadas and peepers
