I was thinking about the different ways people celebrate..or not, Valentines Day. Romance, love, sweets of all kinds from sweet little nothings to creamy chocolates, speaks the Valentine language. There's another side to the day that is less about being in the pink covered in frothy lace or frosting. For singles and the cynicals it's not a dreamy love song, it's just get through today because tomorrow everything will return to normal. For others it's remembering the broken heart of lost love.
I've been all romantic and sweet for the last week, but today I'm giving a nod to those who remember V-day in a different way.
Gotta add to the mood with the right music, soooo...enjoy Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri.
I can't leave with you a sad song. Let's go in another direction...
Dear Teresa, What a thoughful posting...something for everyone. There are occasions in the year, Christmas perhaps the one I usually think of most, which are very difficult for people who, for whatever reason, are on their own. It is so important to remember this and try to think of anyone on their own and include them.
Hello Edith...thanks for stopping by. Perhaps spending Christmas alone, just once, made me empathetic and compassionate enough to see that there are many different paths in life... single, married, divorced, loved and lost, on the rebound,or whatever the situation.
