Under the Weather

A storm rolled in last Monday with dark, heavy clouds that held fast until after Christmas.
Cold December Morn
During the ‘storm’ I couldn’t manage to find my way to comment on wonderful holiday posts, no matter how brightly they shone through the blinding squall. I wanted to wish each of you a merry Christmas.
Snow in the Woods
A cold wind of feeling ill kept me in a prone state buffeted about, but definitely not down for the count.
Christmas Balls Blowin in the Wind
So, instead of posting a Christmas missive, I fought back until the winds calmed, the snow subsided and a light glimmered in a window of well-being.

The sun came out to warm my face and the winds moved across the landscape leaving me nearly back to normal.

Whewwww... so glad I weathered that storm.

  1. I am glad you weathered it too! There is something about photos of stormy weather that draws me in. I guess it is because I can enjoy them from the warmth of my home ;-)

  4. Glad to hear 'your sun' has come out again. Christmas can be a strange time of year, with a lot of baggage and expectations? Diana

  5. Hi Teresa,

I'm glad I'm feeling better, too! Yesterday was such a gray day interspersed with near white outs and blowing snow.

I had a fun, but quiet Christmas day. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Hi Diana,

The sun feels so warm even when the snow blows. You're so right, the holidays can be a strange time of year. Perhaps the stress and pressure lowerd my immune system.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments.

  9. Glad indeed to see that you weathered the wind and snow. How did those bulbs on your trees survive LOL.

  10. HA! The neighbors decorated there trees with Christmas balls as far as they could reach. I've gotten such a kick out of them all holiday season that I just had to photograph them blowing in the wind. LOL

    Thanks for the smile!

  12. Actually, the outdoor storm wasn't all that big. I just captured some snowy moments.

    Thanks for visiting The Cottage.

  13. How awful to be sick for the holidays, Teresa, and what a storm out there too! I am good both the weather and you have returned to calmer states. How divine are those ornaments in the tree, the perfect color combinations. They must be well secured to still be attached after those winds. Our company had to travel through there on their trek from Canada to warmer southeast TN on those days and they reported it was miserable. Do take care of yourself and have a healthy and happy new year! ;-)

  14. Hi Frances,

It was miserable being sick the entire Christmas week, but luckily, I was feeling better on Christmas day and had a lovely time with family. The neighbors did secure those Christmas balls very well. One day they were nearly horizontal from the wind. I have a photo of them when they first put them and there are red leaves on the tree.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and words. Have a wonderful New Year!

  15. I'm glad you are feeling better. It must have been quite miserable to be sick during the festivities. I hope you consoled yourself with hot chocolate and a good book. The dusting of snow is pretty for a while and then when the Christmas tree comes down the snow can go away to. Then it's time for dreaming about the spring garden.

  16. Thank you for your kind sentiments. I wish I could have consoled myself with hot cocoa, but it wasn't on the menu...only bland foods and clear liquids. YUCK! I dream of spring, but truth is I love the cold crisp days of winter, watching it snow, and all the trappings of the season.

    Happy New Year!
