How are you doing?  Is winter getting you down or are you happy to be snug and warm, either because you're indoors or because summer is your season right now? I hope to make more regular appearances at the Cottage since I'm feeling better.  Mind if I share with you a pretty little something?

I love soft, delicate, pretty things...like tiny treasures that sparkle and shimmer.  My daughter rediscovered this small beaded French purse while cleaning out a drawer.  It was a gift from me to her years back when she was a dreamy-eyed teen.

What small feminine something can't you live without?  A purse, a soft cashmere scarf, a favorite bracelet or necklace?  Do tell...

Stay warm and well, dear friends.

  3. Dear Teresa, The purse is so pretty. I can't live without the warm, cuddly robe my daughter gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago. My idea of bliss is to have a 'pajama day' and wear the robe the entire day... one of the advantages of being retired. I am glad you are feeling better and hope you make a complete recovery soon. 4. The purse is so delicate, so beautiful, but the photograph captures all that it entails - amazing!

My scarf collection; long scarves, warm scarves, cool scarves, funky scarves. BUT I have a silver evening purse that belonged to a great aunt and which I have had since childhood. It brings back memories of me imagining being a lady with a silver pirse at a grand ball, each time I look at it. Your post brought it immediately to mind ..l.. and I am so glad that you are feeling better.

  5. Hi Pam...I firmly believe we all need pajama days and as much cuddly comfort as we can achieve.

I'm slowly creeping back to normal and it feels soooooo good.

aguja...Scarves are such wonderful accessories and so versatile. You are so right, pretty little things evoke memories and imaginings of elegance and beauty in another time. I like to look at antiques of all kinds and imagine the stories the object could tell.

    Thank you for stopping by!

  6. How lovely to have a dreamy-eyed teen. Mine is rather hard-nosed.

I'm a sucker for scarves, and I have a fine purple cashmere one and a vividly striped cashmere one that I've been particularly enjoying this year. They are like comfort blankets for the middle-aged neck!

Hope you are recovered from flu?

  7. Hi Bee...My dreamy-eyed teenager went off to college and changed so very much. Gone was the romantic girl, but she became sophisticated and worldly in ways I never could have imagined creating the strong, vibrant young woman she is.

Yes...I am finally feeling well. I don't know what kind of flu/bug it was but it was one of those that hangs on for weeks.
