Gardening Gone Wild hosts a monthly photo contest. I've been ooooohing and ahhhhhing over the gorgeous entries for nearly a year, but never entered a photo of my own. This month the theme is favorite garden photo. I have loads of favorites, so I had a hard time deciding which to enter, but I finally made a decision and here it is....
Unfortunately, weeds are a large part of gardening. Fortunately, some weeds are stunning in their own right, while others are whimsical. It's when the less-loved become invasive and overtake all the wonderful plants we desire in the garden that their names become tarnished.
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.

How lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have never 'bought' the weed/flower distinction.

Awwww... shucks... thanks!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, thanks to each of you for stopping by and being ever so kind with your words and thoughts.
I realise I haven't been all the way to your blog for a while. Following you in a reader, and I see you have a new look, and a new header.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about blogging - I write about naming 'cows' and you write back about Ruthie!
Diana...you make me laugh! Our cow named Ruthie, was named for my mil. I can't remember why though. It has been awhile since I've seen you in these parts. Don't be a stranger!
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning. So silky; such wonderful texture and so full of light.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bee! I thought it looked like a fairy trying to escape the crowd. Growing up, dandelion seeds floating through the air were called fairies. If we caught one, made a wish, and let it go, our wish might come true.
