On the Horizon

“Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it will bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country.” ~Anais Nin
And I might add…a new home.

Exhausted. Excited.  Tired.  Stressed.  Hot.  Anxious.  Ready.  Overwhelmed.  Prepared.
What a mix of words that describe my current state.  I am all these things and more.  Moving is no picnic, but it’s a prime opportunity to reevaluate life from what’s in the back of the closet and do I…want it, need it, can’t live without it to what’s in the back of my mind that’s ready to spring forward.

I’m packing more boxes today and wondering how we accumulated so much ‘stuff.’ Yep, we’re whispering the toss, sell/giveaway, or save mantra with each item.  A yard sale in a couple weeks will offer our cast offs to treasure hunters and it’s so true…one person’s junk is another person’s treasure, but I admit, I have problems getting rid of certain things, like….

Pretty cards sent by family or friends      Pretty dishes covered in dainty flowers
 Holiday decorations
Fabric     Stationery and Paper     Clay pots     Shoes

AND
Tea accoutrements.
I have several tea infusers of various types, teapots, an assortment of teacups, and charming silver tea strainers.  Now what do I need four or five strainers for?  I have no idea, but I just can’t quite give them up….yet.

In a few days the furniture and appliances will be loaded and delivered.  I’m so ready for this move that I can barely stand the wait.  It’s good there’s so much to do and I fall into bed at night tired, achy, but satisfied.  The next time I post, it will be from a new place.
