  3. That frost is Sooo wonderful. It took me back to waking up as a child and being excited by the patterns that Jack frost had left.
I have never seen any as beautiful as these - and so well captured.

  4. Lona...thanks for stopping by. I am enchanted and amazed by the feathery patterns frost makes on windows. I can see a heart in the top photo, too.

MJ...Thanks for the kudos! It's good there's something fun and pretty about the frigid temps.

  5. aguja...I'm so happy to see you again. Oh yes, Jack Frost does paint such magical patterns on our windows and it's so fleeting. Within 30 minutes after photographing the windows the sun melted the masterpieces all away.

  6. Dear Teresa, You have captured the magic of ice art here. What wonderful prisms of colour and patterns and now you have them when the originals are long gone! Wishing you a very Happy Christmas.

  8. Hello Diana...I've never heard them called frost flowers before. I guess I never actually had a name for the stunning patterns nature creates on my windows when the temperature plunges. I've been fascinated by frost flowers since I was a wee girl. Thank you for your kind comment.

  10. These are spectacular!
It is probably an elementary school question, but why don't we get these in England?

  11. Hello Bee...Thank you! Not all the windows in the house become frosted over. My bedroom windows and the kitchen window are the only places this happens. I wonder if it has to do with moisture on the glass from steam and frigid temps. A bath connects to my bedroom and the window in the kitchen is above the sink. Why this doesn't happen in England is an interesting question.

  15. Your frosty windows are amazingly beautiful! I guess that's one bad thing about having new energy efficient windows, we don't get any frosty windows anymore. So I'll enjoy yours!
